Order Received for Reader-Developed Engine Worth 313.1 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] Hyundai Doosan Infracore, a construction equipment subsidiary of HD Hyundai, announced on the 2nd that it has signed a contract to supply tank engines worth a total of 313.1 billion KRW with Turkish defense company BMC. Through this order, Hyundai Doosan Infracore has made its first solo export of defense engines.
The tank engine introduced by Hyundai Infracore is rated at 1,500 horsepower. It will be installed in Altay, Turkey's next-generation tank manufactured by BMC. Previously, the Turkish government completed an applicability evaluation by equipping the Altay tank with Hyundai Doosan Infracore engines.
Hyundai Doosan Infracore will sequentially supply the first batch worth 110.2 billion KRW over three years starting from the second half of 2025. The second batch, worth 202.9 billion KRW according to the additional option purchase contract clause, is scheduled to be supplied from 2028 to 2030. A Hyundai Doosan Infracore official stated, "We will expand export regions in the future and develop the defense sector as the next-generation growth engine."
