[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] On the afternoon of the 1st, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education held a disciplinary committee meeting and decided to dismiss Officer A, who participated as an interviewer in the 2021 local government official recruitment exam.
Dismissal is the highest level of disciplinary action a public official can receive. This disciplinary action was proposed on September 23 of last year, but the decision was postponed until the court's first trial verdict.
Officer A, who was dismissed this time, was an interviewer involved in the case where a public service exam candidate made an extreme choice due to manipulation of interview scores in the 2021 local government official recruitment exam.
The Office of Education judged that Officer A violated the 'duty of diligence,' 'duty to maintain dignity,' 'disclosure of official secrets,' and 'prohibition of performing duties due to improper solicitation' under the Local Public Officials Act.
Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "With this disciplinary decision, I feel a heavy responsibility that such an incident occurred in the public official recruitment exam, which should be the most fair," and added, "We will carry out educational administration that aligns with fairness and common sense to prevent such incidents from happening in the future."
