[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] The highest-spec premium laptop in the history of the Galaxy Book series is coming. Samsung Electronics unveiled the new Galaxy Book3 series laptops at the 'Galaxy Unpacked 2023: Share the Epic' event held in San Francisco, USA, on the 1st (local time).
The lineup consists of the high-performance premium model 'Galaxy Book3 Ultra', the 'Galaxy Book3 Pro 360' with a 360-degree rotating touchscreen supporting the S Pen, and the thin and light clamshell design 'Galaxy Book3 Pro'.
Samsung Electronics MX Division President (CEO) No Tae-moon said, "Samsung Electronics' goal is to maximize customers' multi-device experience through an expanded Galaxy ecosystem," adding, "The Galaxy Book3 series, equipped with powerful performance and seamless connectivity, will provide high productivity and creativity as customized products for Galaxy users."
The highest specs in the series history: 'Galaxy Book3 Ultra'
The Galaxy Book3 series features upgraded central processing units (CPU), graphics processing units (GPU), and displays, delivering the highest performance ever in the Galaxy Book lineup. It is equipped with the latest Intel 13th generation Core processors, enhancing graphics and app execution performance.
In particular, the Galaxy Book3 Ultra is equipped with an 'Intel Core i9 processor' and an 'NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070' external graphics card for laptops. It smoothly handles graphic-intensive work and high-spec games. It also offers portability with a thickness of 16.5mm and a weight of 1.79kg.
The 'Galaxy Book3 Pro 360' is designed for content creators. It features a 360-degree rotating 40.6cm (16-inch) touchscreen and supports the S Pen, providing usability as both a tablet and a PC.
The 'Galaxy Book3 Pro' is an ultra-slim and ultra-light product emphasizing portability. The 35.6cm (14-inch) model weighs only 1.17kg and is just 11.3mm thick.
The Galaxy Book3 series is the first in the series to adopt the 'Dynamic AMOLED 2X' display used in Galaxy smartphones, delivering vivid colors and image quality. Audio performance has also been significantly enhanced with a quad-speaker system. It supports fast charging up to 100W.
It has obtained global certifications such as the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) 'ClearMR' for motion clarity quality, HDR quality certification 'DisplayHDR True Black 500', and the Swiss international standard certification body (SGS) 'Eye Care Display' for blue light reduction.
Galaxy Book Ultra pre-orders start on the 14th in Korea... Official release on the 22nd
Samsung Electronics will start pre-orders for the Galaxy Book3 Ultra in Korea from the 14th. The official release date is the 22nd. The Galaxy Book3 Pro series will begin pre-orders on the 2nd and launch on the 17th in Korea.
The Galaxy Book3 Ultra will be released in a 40.6cm size and graphite color. The Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 comes in 40.6cm, and the Galaxy Book3 Pro is available in two sizes: 35.6cm and 40.6cm. Both graphite and beige colors will be offered.
The price of the Galaxy Book3 Ultra starts at 3,470,000 KRW depending on specifications. The Galaxy Book3 Pro starts at 1,880,000 KRW, and the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 starts at 2,590,000 KRW.
Fast and seamless device connectivity... Completing the Galaxy ecosystem
The Galaxy Book3 supports connection with Galaxy smartphones through Microsoft's 'Phone Link' app, greatly enhancing productivity.
On the Galaxy Book3, users can send and receive smartphone messages and calls, or run apps installed only on the smartphone. They can also continue browsing pages viewed on the smartphone in the web browser. The 'Samsung Multi Control' feature allows controlling Galaxy smartphones and tablets using the Galaxy Book3 keyboard and mouse. With the Samsung Pass feature for PC, website IDs and passwords used on the smartphone can be used on the PC.
Sustainability has also been enhanced. Samsung Electronics used recycled plastics from discarded water bottles and fishing nets in some parts of the Galaxy Book3 series. The 'Dynamic AMOLED 2X' display has received the 'Green Guard Gold' certification from the US safety certification body UL (Underwriters Laboratories) for volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions below international standards.
