[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] A man who indiscriminately assaulted a woman walking down the street and attempted to sexually assault her has been arrested by the police.
On the 1st, the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced that they arrested a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of quasi-rape and injury.
Mr. A is accused of chasing and assaulting a woman passing through the Sillim-dong area of Seoul around 11:50 PM on the 21st of last month, and attempting to sexually assault the victim who was unable to resist.
When police officers arrived in response to a report, Mr. A was discovered pretending to be the victim’s boyfriend.
The police detained Mr. A and sent him to prosecution on the 26th of last month.
