[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do has secured an additional 8.7 billion KRW in national funds for four projects, including the expansion of the Gwan-san-eup sewage treatment facility, related to the public sewage system project.
According to the county on the 1st, there are currently 15 ongoing sewage projects, including the expansion of the Jangheung-eup sewage treatment area.
Among these, 11 projects are under construction and 4 are in the design phase, with a total project cost of 123 billion KRW (78.1 billion KRW in national funds) for the public sewage system projects.
The projects that secured additional budget also include Simcheon Village in Busan-myeon, where the Korea Sports Talent Development Institute is planned to be established, which is expected to create synergy with regional development projects.
To increase the sewage coverage rate in Jangheung-gun from 72% to 87%, the 2024 Sewage Maintenance Basic Plan has been established to ensure prompt coverage in areas without sewage systems.
A county official stated, “Due to the nature of sewage construction involving deep excavation, there is a risk of safety accidents, so we ask for caution when passing nearby,” and added, “We will do our best to complete the sewage projects early.”
