Export-Import Bank Supports Heating Costs of 500 Million KRW for 1,000 Vulnerable Households

Export-Import Bank Supports Heating Costs of 500 Million KRW for 1,000 Vulnerable Households

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] The Export-Import Bank of Korea announced on the 2nd that it has donated a total of 500 million KRW to the Community Chest of Korea to support low-income households struggling with the recently soaring heating costs.

The bank's heating cost donation will provide 500,000 KRW per household to 980 vulnerable households that are not receiving sufficient heating despite the cold wave this winter. The recipient households will be selected through 196 welfare centers nationwide.

An official from the bank stated, "We have taken emergency measures to support heating costs because insufficient heating during the winter cold wave directly affects the health deterioration of low-income families," adding, "Going forward, the bank plans to implement various social contribution programs to help vulnerable groups in our society who suffer in blind spots of support."
