Adjustment of Impression Fee Implementation Timing to Be Determined Later

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The basic taxi fare in urban areas of Gyeongnam will increase to 4,000 won.

Gyeongsangnam-do announced that on the 31st of last month, it held a Consumer Policy Committee meeting and reviewed the 2023 taxi fare and rate adjustment plan, deciding to raise the fare by 700 won from the existing 3,300 won.

According to the adjustment plan, the basic taxi fare distance remains the same at 2 km, and the surcharge rate outside the city limits is maintained at the existing 30%.

The fare per distance has been reduced from the current 133 m to 130 m, and the unit time has been shortened from 34 seconds to 31 seconds.

The previous late-night surcharge, which was from midnight to 4 a.m., has been changed to start from 10 p.m. the previous day.

According to the province, the taxi industry requested a 4,200 won fare, a 18.4% increase considering management difficulties, but the review committee finally decided on a 15.1% increase.

The basic fare increase plan will apply to urban areas within the province, and rural areas will decide on fare changes within the Gyeongnam-do increase range after their own meetings.

The province plans to adjust the implementation timing of the increased fare later, considering the recent surge in heating costs.
