Gyeongnam Provincial Council Agriculture, Fisheries and Maritime Committee Reviews Samcheonpo Port Development Project

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] The Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Affairs Committee of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council visited Samcheonpo Port on the 1st to inspect the Samcheonpo Port development project and conducted legislative activities.

The Agricultural, Maritime, and Fisheries Committee of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council visited Samcheonpo Port to carry out legislative activities.

Currently, Samcheonpo Port is included in the '4th Port Basic Plan of 2020,' and projects aimed at establishing an advanced base for fisheries in the Namhae region are being implemented step by step.

Specifically, three projects are underway: ▲ Extension of the East Breakwater of the Old Port ▲ Installation of a Small Vessel Wharf at the Old Port ▲ Construction of a Breakwater Facility for Small Fishing Vessels at the New Port. Through these projects, various port facilities are being expanded to provide convenience to local residents and minimize damage caused by typhoons, thereby promoting the revitalization of the local economy.

Chairman Kim Hyun-cheol stated, “The Samcheonpo Fish Market was flooded due to the typhoon, causing damage to local residents. For the protection of the property rights of local residents, the project must be expedited.”
