Sang-gil Park, Gwangju Nam-gu Council Member, "Media Wall Must Be Successfully Established"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Park Sang-gil, a member of the Gwangju Nam-gu Council, suggested that measures should be considered for the successful establishment of the Baegun Square Urban Regeneration New Deal Project and the media wall.

On the 1st, Councilor Park stated in a 5-minute speech at the 1st plenary session of the 291st extraordinary meeting, "It is regrettable to hear voices of concern regarding the profitability, including operating costs, of the Baegun Square media wall recently."

He continued, "The media wall is a result of proactive administration that quickly reflects the trends of the rapidly changing 4th Industrial Revolution era, and it is the landmark of the Baegun Square Urban Regeneration New Deal Project, which is attempting to transform the old downtown into a people-centered cultural space."

He added, "If the Baegun Square media wall, where at least 70,000 vehicles pass daily, is reborn as a media platform in the form of public content by showcasing various immersive contents and media art and providing useful information to residents, it will greatly contribute to making Nam-gu a smart city."

Finally, he said, "While humbly accepting the worries and concerns about the Baegun Square media wall, now is the time for the residents, the executive branch, and our council to come together and consider various utilization plans so that the policy proceeds in the right direction and the media wall can become a successful project."
