Playnom "Superchief Gallery Artist Equinox NFT Sold for 20.83 Million Won"

NFT marketplace Playnom (CEO Seong-eok Moon) announced on the 1st that the NFT artwork by Equinoz, an artist affiliated with Superchief Gallery in New York, USA, was sold at the highest price of 40,120 LM (approximately $16,937, about 20.83 million KRW) just 4 minutes after the auction started the day before.

In this auction, Equinoz's work titled "Cybernetics" was unveiled, and with the highest bid, the auction, which was scheduled to run until the 8th, ended early.

Equinoz is a 3D artist who expresses imagination about the future through bold colors and surreal, delicate details under the theme "Visible Future." The artist also sells works on NFT platforms such as SuperRare and OpenSea and is actively involved in various fields including games, commercial videos, music, and fashion brands.

The NFT auction, held by Playnom as a pre-event for the "NFT Korea Festival," is conducted in three rounds. In the first auction held last December, Shavonne Wong's work titled "Light in the Shadow" was sold at a high final price of 65,800 LM (approximately $26,776, about 33.93 million KRW).

Following the early highest bid success in the second auction featuring Equinoz, expectations are rising for the upcoming auction of works by artist Davey Perkins scheduled for February.

The "NFT Korea Festival," co-hosted by Playnom and Superchief Gallery, is a large-scale NFT festival featuring 120 NFT artists from Korea and abroad. Various events related to NFT and Web 3.0 will be held, including an NFT art exhibition curated by Superchief Gallery.

A Playnom representative stated, "Achieving consecutive sell-out results in the first and second NFT auctions confirmed once again that public interest in NFTs remains strong despite the crypto winter situation," adding, "Starting with this NFT auction and the NFT Korea Festival, Playnom will play a leading role in expanding the NFT ecosystem and will evolve into a global NFT hub."
