Final Report Meeting on Strategic Industry Development Service Held
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Busanjinhae Free Economic Zone Authority held a final report meeting on January 31 in the main conference room for the data convergence and biohealth industry development service, which is part of the strategic industries.
According to the Free Economic Zone Authority, the final report meeting was organized to present the implementation tasks derived from the comprehensive plan for strategic industry development conducted by Busan Technopark and Busan National University Hospital, and to discuss detailed promotion plans.
On that day, the following were presented as implementation tasks in the data convergence field: manufacturing data utilization consulting and demonstration support project, data convergence product testing and certification support project, and support project for training mid-level managers for digital transformation in small and medium-sized enterprises.
In the biohealth industry sector, the creation of a hospital-centered medical cluster and the formation of governance in the biohealth field were proposed.
Measures for nurturing local talent and professional workers currently employed were also discussed.

Based on the strategic industry development service, the Free Economic Zone Authority plans to devise specialized development strategies for the data convergence and biohealth industries, which are recognized as future growth engines, to support the growth of local companies and contribute to regional economic development.
Among the implementation tasks derived from the report meeting, projects that can be promoted in the short term will be piloted this year to achieve business outcomes.
The Authority plans to establish a development plan within the year that includes digital transformation, complex logistics, and smart healthcare.
Director Kim Ki-young said, “We will carefully review the implementation tasks presented through this service and utilize them to design support projects that companies need,” adding, “We will do our best to play a leading role in creating an ecosystem for the region’s core strategic industries by supporting the digital transformation of local companies.”
