Discussion on Traffic Environment Improvement Plans in Jangheung-eup Urban Area
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jangheung-gun, Jeonnam held a communication forum between the county governor and employees to efficiently resolve local issues.
According to the county on the 1st, the communication forum aims to improve the work report meetings promoted by County Governor Kim Seong, with the governor presiding and various members such as employees, team leaders, and department heads from relevant departments participating.

The forum held on the 30th of last month was conducted under the theme of ‘Improvement of Traffic Environment in Jangheung-eup Urban Area.’
Officials from related departments including the Disaster Safety Division, Construction and Urban Division, Rural Vitalization Office, and Jangheung-eup Administrative Welfare Center participated and exchanged opinions on efficient measures to improve the traffic environment.
As a direction for improvement, it was decided to first complete the undergrounding project of power and communication lines on Jungang-ro and Jangheung-ro, the main roads in Jangheung-eup, in cooperation with Korea Electric Power Corporation by the first half of the year.
In the second half of the year, sidewalks will be constructed and traffic safety facilities installed on Jungang-ro and Jangheung-ro to ensure a safe pedestrian environment.
In the long term, adjustments to parking time on Jungang-ro, Jangheung-ro, and Geonsan-ro, as well as the creation of a tower-type public parking lot, will be pursued.
County Governor Kim Seong, who presided over the forum, said, “It was a meaningful time to solve the chronic traffic problems in the Jangheung-eup urban area, which had been a frequent subject of civil complaints,” and added, “We will steadily implement the improvement plans derived from the forum to create a safer and more pleasant traffic environment.”
