[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] BNK Busan Bank opened the app service ‘Action B,’ which utilizes augmented reality (AR) technology, as the first in the financial sector on the 1st in preparation for the metaverse bank era in the financial industry.
The ‘Action B’ app service provides unique AR content excluding finance to the MZ generation and Alpha generation, and can be naturally linked with Busan Bank mobile banking.
The app’s content consists of four types: ▲Action Mask, which creates a virtual avatar using one’s own face ▲Action Drawing, which transforms drawings made by the user into 3D objects in virtual space ▲Chikapoka, a toothbrushing game that guides brushing position and method using AR technology ▲Action Business Card, which provides a virtual bank employee’s business card, a 3D BNK Busan Bank headquarters, and landmarks of Busan.
The toothbrushing game content ‘Chikapoka’ was produced in consultation with the Busan City Dental Association through an MOU. The AR toothbrushing guide helps children easily and enjoyably develop toothbrushing habits with cute characters and various missions.
An event is also being held from the 1st to May 31st, offering random points once a day when playing the toothbrushing game. Points collected through the game can be used like cash in Busan Bank mobile banking, either deposited into existing savings accounts or used when opening new savings accounts.
The ‘Action B’ app can be easily used by installing it from the Play Store or App Store and signing up as a member.
Oh Seong-ho, Head of Digital Finance at Busan Bank, said, “We created the AR content app ‘Action B’ in collaboration with ‘Cocoa Vision,’ the 4th batch of Busan Bank Fintech Lab, which possesses reality technologies (AR/VR) that constitute the metaverse,” and added, “We will continue to collaborate with fintech startups to open meaningful services.”
