[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Naver announced on the 1st that it will participate in the Innovation Shared University project being conducted by Dankook University.
On the 31st of last month, Naver signed a "Business Agreement for the Advancement of the Integrated Platform for the Innovation Shared University Project" together with Dankook University. The Innovation Shared University project is a program aimed at nurturing talent in digital new technologies by sharing human and material educational resources possessed by multiple universities both online and offline. A consortium of universities in charge of the project has been selected and is underway in a total of eight new technology fields, including ▲Biohealth ▲Artificial Intelligence ▲Next-generation Semiconductors. Dankook University is leading talent development in the biohealth field.
Naver Whale plans to create a platform where students' learning status and academic records can be safely shared by utilizing its own edutech platform, "Whale Space." It will provide technology to ensure that records in the shared class environment are smoothly linked with each school's academic management system and will advance various solutions necessary for shared classes. Based on Naver's AI technology capabilities, it will also develop customized educational analysis functions.
The platform to be used in the Innovation Shared University project requires compatibility to stably connect different academic management systems by school and security to safely manage student information. Whale was positively evaluated in the participant selection process for the project due to the versatility of its own web technology and Naver's high infrastructure and software security levels.
Since its launch in 2021, Whale Space has rapidly supported technologies needed in educational sites through in-house development and partnerships, providing a stable service environment. It is currently being utilized through business agreements with 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide. Taking this business agreement as an opportunity, it plans to increase its usability across the entire educational field, including universities and graduate schools.
Meanwhile, NSDevil, an edutech company operating educational evaluation solutions, will also contribute its technological capabilities to Whale Space, which will be used in the Innovation Shared University project. NSDevil provides evaluation technology linked with each school's academic management system and will help build an optimized Whale Space environment based on its know-how in operating educational platforms.
