Fire Authorities Issue Level 2 Response
[Asia Economy Reporter Seong Giho] Around 6:50 a.m. on the 1st, an unknown fire broke out at a textile factory in Seongseo Industrial Complex, Igok-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, and the fire authorities are working to extinguish the fire. The main flames have been brought under control for now.
After receiving the report, the fire authorities raised the alert from Response Level 1 to Response Level 2, deploying 3 helicopters, 73 fire trucks, and 210 personnel, and managed to control the major flames within 1 hour and 55 minutes.
Response Level 1 involves dispatching all personnel and equipment from the local fire station, while Response Level 2 involves the Daegu Fire Safety Headquarters, the local fire headquarters, deploying personnel and equipment from nearby fire stations to support firefighting efforts.
One worker who was in the factory at the time evacuated outside to avoid smoke, and no casualties have been reported. It is also estimated that 5 buildings have been destroyed so far.
The police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage after the fire is completely extinguished.
