[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency recently participated in the Smart Factory Expo held in Japan, achieving export consultation results worth 13 million dollars.
The agency announced on the 1st that it set up a Korean pavilion at the 'Smart Factory Expo' held in Tokyo, Japan from the 25th to the 27th of last month, recording a total of 242 consultations worth 13.192 million dollars.
Now in its 7th year, the Tokyo Smart Factory Expo is Japan's largest smart factory exhibition. A total of 1,420 companies related to industrial artificial intelligence (AI), including industrial Internet of Things (IoT), cloud solutions, industrial robots, wearables, and industrial tablets, participated. It was reported that about 70,000 people visited during the event.
The Korean pavilion operated by the agency attracted great interest by exhibiting various products such as logistics robots, collaborative robots, and AI for smart factories, with participation from 13 small and medium-sized enterprises.
Lee Shin-hye, director of FutureMain who participated in this expo, expressed gratitude, saying, "Interest in AI for smart factories is gradually increasing in Japan," and added, "With the agency's support and thorough preparation, we were able to receive positive responses from major Japanese companies such as Aisin and JR on site."
Kang Sung-chun, director of the agency, emphasized, "Digital transformation (DX) of manufacturing is the most urgent task for the regional industry in Gyeonggi-do, and this exhibition provided a great opportunity for local smart factory technology companies to grow," adding, "We will continue to strive to enable more companies to participate in the future."
