Price Increase Compared to All Hybrid and EV Models
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Kia announced on the 1st that it has launched the model year update of the Niro Hybrid and EV, ‘The 2024 Niro,’ and has begun full-scale sales.
Kia’s representative eco-friendly sport utility vehicle (SUV), the Niro, has consistently been loved by customers based on its excellent fuel efficiency and product competitiveness.
This model year update improved product appeal by standardizing customer-preferred features by trim. The introduction of new packages has expanded customer choices.
Kia applied an electronic chromic mirror (ECM) as standard across all trims of the Niro Hybrid and EV. For the Hybrid model’s Prestige trim, the electronic shift-by-wire dial (SBW) and rain sensor were made standard to enhance product value.
Additionally, the sunroof, which was previously only available on the top trim, can now be applied from the Prestige trim for the Hybrid model and from the base trim for the EV model.
Kia added new colors and combinations to the ‘Edge Pack,’ which allows customers to select the color of the vehicle’s C-pillar. The ‘My Comfort Package’ was newly introduced to broaden customer options.
The Edge Pack newly includes the Orange Delight color. There are a total of five exterior color and C-pillar color combinations available: ▲Snow White Pearl - Orange Delight ▲Snow White Pearl - Aurora Black Pearl ▲Snow White Pearl - Steel Gray ▲Cityscape Green - Aurora Black Pearl ▲Mineral Blue - Aurora Black Pearl.
The My Comfort Package, available on all trims, consists of LED-illuminated ▲sun visor lamps ▲map lamps ▲room lamps ▲luggage lamps, and a luggage screen.
The price of The 2024 Niro Hybrid with the model year update has slightly increased across all trims. The Trendy trim rose from 26.6 million KRW to 27.12 million KRW, Prestige from 28.95 million KRW to 29.75 million KRW, and Signature from 33.06 million KRW to 33.5 million KRW. For the EV, the Air trim increased from 46.4 million KRW to 48.55 million KRW, and the Earth trim from 49.1 million KRW to 51.2 million KRW. (Based on eco-friendly vehicle tax benefits and 3.5% individual consumption tax applied)
A Kia official said, “The Niro is an SUV with high efficiency and excellent space utilization,” adding, “The Niro, strengthened in product competitiveness to meet customer needs, will once again lead the eco-friendly SUV market.”
