Announcement for Recruitment of Organizations Participating in the 1st Volunteer Support Project Delivered by Gyeonggi Province Residents
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Volunteer Center are recruiting participating organizations for the 'Citizen-Delivered Volunteer 1st Support Project' from the 6th to the 13th of this month to promote a culture of volunteer participation.
The Citizen-Delivered Volunteer Support Project is a public contest project that started in 2017 and is now in its 7th year. Non-profit private organizations registered in Gyeonggi Province and volunteer groups registered with city and county volunteer centers can participate. Selected applicants will receive funding to operate volunteer programs.
This year's 1st support project is themed "Gyeonggi Volunteer Leading a Better Future and Change" and is divided into five categories: ▲Social Care ▲Social Safety ▲Life Love ▲Talent Sharing ▲Autonomous Topics. The province will select 260 organizations and support up to 6 million KRW per organization. The total support budget is 1.5 billion KRW, the largest ever.
To revitalize volunteer group activities that have been subdued due to COVID-19 and to expand volunteer participation opportunities for citizens, the province increased the number of supported organizations by about 30 compared to last year. Also, considering inflation, the support budget per organization was expanded from 5 million KRW to 6 million KRW.
Applications can be submitted via email after checking the Gyeonggi Volunteer Center website.
Kwon Seok-pil, director of the Gyeonggi Volunteer Center, emphasized, "The Citizen-Delivered Volunteer Support Project has played an important role in spreading a culture of volunteer participation among citizens and solving community problems," adding, "Active interest and participation from volunteer groups working in local communities are needed."
