Sacheon-si Holds Midterm Report Meeting on Management Innovation Service for Local Public Institutions

Report on Internal Status and Functional Diagnosis Analysis by Institution

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sacheon City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 1st that it conducted a mid-term review of the organizational diagnosis of local public institutions, which is being carried out to promote management innovation in local public institutions.

The city held a mid-term report meeting for the 'Sacheon City Local Public Institution Organizational Diagnosis Research Service' at the city hall's main conference room, attended by Mayor Park Dong-sik, Chairman Yoon Hyung-geun, city council members, and heads of four local public institutions.

On this day, the Korea Industrial Relations Institute, the service provider, reported on ▲internal status analysis and internal capability analysis by institution ▲organizational culture and organizational satisfaction analysis ▲functional diagnosis by institution ▲organizational redesign direction ▲workload and appropriate personnel analysis by institution.

Sacheon City, Gyeongnam Province, is conducting an interim report meeting for the management innovation service of local public institutions.

The attendees presented various opinions on the development direction of public institutions based on the organizational and functional analysis of each institution.

They requested the implementing company to review more thoroughly the suggestions and discussions made at this meeting and reflect them in the final service report.

In particular, they asked to consider transferring the tasks previously handled by the city to the Cultural Foundation to secure expertise and promote the Sacheon Airshow externally.

Mayor Park said, "This service is a comprehensive re-diagnosis of our city's local public institutions in line with the new government's national agenda for public institution innovation," adding, "I hope it will be reborn as a competitive organization through groundbreaking changes and innovation."

Earlier, in September last year, the city launched an organizational diagnosis service targeting four local public institutions: Sacheon City Facilities Management Corporation, Sacheon City Welfare and Youth Foundation, Sacheon Cultural Foundation, and Sacheon City Eco-friendly Microbial Fermentation Research Foundation.

The service tasks include ▲general status of each institution, internal and external management environment analysis ▲appropriateness of projects and analysis of new project demands ▲review of efficient personnel allocation according to tasks ▲development of organizational models through comparison of organizational functions of similar local public institutions ▲presentation of organizational and personnel placement plans based on adjustment of organization and staff.

The final report meeting for this service, which focuses on promoting responsible management of local public institutions and efficient organizational redesign, will be held in March.
