According to the police on the 31st, Officer A of the Yonggang Police Station in Mapo-gu, Seoul, accidentally operated his mobile phone on November 23 last year and, unaware that he was still on a call, uttered abusive language while mentioning the caller's real name. The caller, B, who had been under police protection since April last year, reportedly called the police after seeing a suspicious man trying to open the front door of her home.

Caller B immediately rushed to the police station to protest and requested an apology letter. However, it reportedly took about 20 minutes to identify Officer A at the station, and B was only provided with a photocopy of the apology letter, causing further inconvenience.

The police station stated that the matter was resolved with Officer A apologizing to B at the time, and no disciplinary action was taken. However, after the incident was reported by a media outlet on the 30th, the police began an internal investigation into Officer A.
