Caught on CCTV installed for security purposes
A man in his 20s who was delivering pizza was caught by the police for stealing a neighbor's package.
Incheon Gyeyang Police Station announced that they have booked a man in his 20s, identified as A, without detention on charges of theft, according to Yonhap News on the 31st.
A is suspected of stealing a package containing coffee capsules worth about 70,000 won from a villa in Danam-dong, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, around 2:30 p.m. the previous day.
A, a pizza delivery worker, is believed to have hidden the package placed in front of the neighbor's door under his clothes and fled after completing his delivery. His crime was fully captured on the closed-circuit television (CCTV) installed by the victim, B, for security purposes.
B said, "I was angry to see someone stealing without hesitation," adding, "If there had been no CCTV, the delivery company employee could have suffered an unfair loss."
The police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the case with A soon. It is reported that A has admitted to all charges.
