Russian Energy Development Company
"8800 Manwon for Capturing a Tank"
As the UK, the US, Germany, and others have supported Ukraine with their own tanks, a Russian company has responded by offering a large "bounty" on Western tanks.
On the 30th (local time), British media outlet Sky News reported that the Russian energy company "Fores" recently announced, "We will pay cash to Russian military units that first capture or destroy German-made Leopard 2 tanks or American-made M1 Abrams tanks."
The bounty offered by this company is 5 million rubles (approximately 88 million KRW). Additionally, they set a condition to pay an extra 500,000 rubles (approximately 8.8 million KRW) for each additional tank destroyed.
Fores is also preparing for the possibility that the West might supply fighter jets to Ukraine. It is reported that they plan to pay 15 million rubles (approximately 264 million KRW) to the unit that first destroys American-made fighter jets such as the F-15 or F-16.
Founded in 1999, Fores operates in the Ural region and produces artificial ceramic granules called "propant." Propant is the main raw material needed when implementing the hydraulic fracturing method, which is mainly used in shale gas field development.
In a notice posted on its website, the company stated, "We are witnessing the permanent escalation of the (Russia-Ukraine) conflict and the unlimited supply of weapons to the enemy," adding, "This means we must unite and support our military, and we will continue to support our soldiers."
Meanwhile, earlier on the 14th, the UK Prime Minister's Office promised to send 14 of its domestically produced Challenger 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine. Subsequently, the US, Germany, and others have formalized their support with their own tanks, and dozens of modern tanks are planned to be supplied to Ukraine in the future.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky plans to focus all efforts on repelling Russian forces using Western heavy weapons. In a video speech on the 29th, he urged for additional weapons support, saying, "We need long-range missiles."
