Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Surpasses 100 Participants in Hometown Love Donation Program

Developing Goseong with Local Finances Secured through Donations

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Less than a month after the hometown love donation system began, the number of participants in the donation program in Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam, has surpassed 100.


Mayor Lee Sang-geun expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thanks to the continuous interest and love from our Goseong natives and the public, these precious feelings have quickly gathered. We will do our best to establish and revitalize the hometown love donation system by discovering unique return gifts exclusive to Goseong-gun and providing convenience to donors."


The hometown love donation system allows donors to contribute to their desired local government, such as their hometown, and receive a full tax deduction up to 100,000 KRW. Donors can receive fresh and delicious agricultural and livestock products from Goseong-gun as return gifts.

Additionally, Goseong-gun uses the local finances secured through donations to promote policies that develop Goseong, aiming for a triple benefit effect.


Goseong-gun offers 20 unique return gifts (agricultural, livestock, and marine products) exclusive to the county. The county plans to enhance the return gifts by adding admission tickets to major local tourist attractions and discount coupons for campgrounds.
