[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] BNK Gyeongnam Bank announced on the 31st that it has officially opened the next-generation UMS (Unified Messaging System) to allow customers to use banking services safely and conveniently.
The next-generation UMS enables sending and managing text messages, Kakao AlimTalk/FriendTalk, RCS (Rich Communication Suite, next-generation standard messaging format), app PUSH, E-mail, and FAX all within a single system.
In particular, it supports ▲integrated message management ▲integrated history inquiry ▲sending statistics ▲sending schedule management, making it easy to manage customers' mobile messages.
BNK Gyeongnam Bank completed the development of the next-generation UMS on the 13th of last month, and as it sequentially attempted message sending, it is currently operating all channels and message types normally, including app PUSH.
Lee Kyung-gi, leader of the Digital Strategy Department, said, “As financial services through mobile banking have become commonplace recently, the importance of integrated message management is emerging. Financial companies are diversifying channels such as KakaoTalk along with traditional telecom-based text messages. Moreover, an advanced message management system is necessary to respond to customers in accordance with regulations such as the Financial Consumer Protection Act.”
He added, “To respond to illegal spam messages impersonating banks and to send more reliable mobile messages, we have introduced certified channels such as Kakao AlimTalk and RCS. We will continue to advance the next-generation UMS system so that customers can understand more easily and feel secure.”
