[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] The Jeonbuk Gochang-gun Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Shim Deok-seop) announced on the 31st that it is recruiting 28 residents for the Seoul Scholarship Dormitory and 50 residents for the Jeonju Scholarship Dormitory to nurture local talents preparing for the future of Gochang-gun.
Applications and submissions are accepted until the 6th of next month, and the final successful candidates will be announced on the 10th of next month. Starting this year, the dormitories will operate with one room per person to foster a study-friendly environment for enrolled students.
The selection targets are freshmen or enrolled students at universities (including junior colleges) located in the Seoul Scholarship Dormitory (metropolitan area) and Jeonju Scholarship Dormitory (Jeonbuk area), whose themselves or parents have had a registered address in Gochang-gun from January 1, 2022, until the announcement date.
The selection criteria involve evaluating the College Scholastic Ability Test scores for freshmen and the academic performance of the previous semester along with lifestyle factors for enrolled students, according to the Gochang Scholarship Dormitory operation regulations.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the Talent Development and Lifelong Education Team at the county office with the required documents or through the county office website.
A dormitory deposit of 100,000 KRW (refundable upon departure) and a monthly fee of 220,000 KRW (one room per person) for Seoul and 200,000 KRW (one room per person) for Jeonju must be paid.
Rooms are assigned based on eligibility and selection criteria, and residents can use facilities installed within the scholarship dormitories such as desks, chairs, beds, and lounges.
