Vaccinations for Children from 6 Months to 4 Years Old
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) will administer COVID-19 vaccinations to infants and toddlers aged 6 months to 4 years, following government recommendations, in response to the winter resurgence and the emergence of new variants. Previously, vaccinations were conducted for those aged 5 and above.

According to the county on the 31st, to prepare for COVID-19 infection, severe illness, and death among high-risk infants and toddlers with weakened immunity or underlying conditions, pre-registration for vaccinations began on the 30th for children aged 6 months to 4 years, with vaccinations starting from the 13th of next month.
Additionally, infant and toddler vaccinations will be conducted at designated locations centered around Muan-eup at the Muan-gun Public Health Center, and at entrusted medical institutions Mokpo Clinic and Namak Children's Hospital centered around Namak. The vaccination schedule consists of three doses of the Pfizer vaccine for infants and toddlers, administered at 8-week (56-day) intervals.
A public health center official stated, “In infants and toddlers, the period from symptom onset or diagnosis to death is very short, so we strongly encourage high-risk infants and toddlers with weakened immunity or underlying conditions to actively participate in vaccination.”
