Proposal for Early Establishment of Space Aviation Agency One Team

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, who is touring 18 cities and counties in Gyeongnam, visited Sacheon City on the 30th to strengthen on-site communication with residents and promote win-win cooperation.

About 250 people, including Park Dong-sik, Mayor of Sacheon, Yoon Hyung-geun, Chairman of Sacheon City Council, representatives of institutions such as Gyeongnam Provincial Assembly members, and citizen representatives, attended the 'Dialogue with Sacheon Citizens' held in the main conference room of Sacheon City Hall.

Before the dialogue with residents, Mayor Park requested active support from Gyeongnam Province for the city's key projects, such as the establishment of the Sacheon-Jinju aviation industry line in the national railway network and the construction of the road between Chukdong, Sacheon and Jeongchon, Jinju.

Governor Park Wansu of Gyeongnam Province is having a conversation with the citizens of Sacheon.

He also stated that this year, when the advanced aerospace industry is officially starting, Gyeongnam Province and Sacheon City will be at the forefront of "Korea's leap to become one of the world's top 7 space powers," and proposed that in 2023, when the establishment of the Korea Aerospace Agency becomes visible, Gyeongnam Province and Sacheon City should become one team to mark the first page of a new history in Korea's aerospace industry.

Governor Park responded, saying, "Sacheon is emerging as the center of Korea's aerospace industry and, with the designation of a satellite-specialized district, it has become responsible for an important part of future industries," adding, "Since much preparation is needed, let us work together with one heart to build a new Gyeongnam and make Sacheon a world-class city."

During the dialogue with Sacheon citizens, chaired by Governor Park, a total of 16 proposals were made, including the creation of a meditation forest for youth students, support for job creation and startups for young people, and expansion of social participation for seniors' third act of life, creating a space for empathy and communication across generations.

Regarding the citizens' proposals, which continued for an hour, Governor Park responded positively, promising to meet residents' expectations through active and prompt implementation, earning great applause and support from the citizens.

This 'Dialogue between the Governor and Sacheon Citizens' was held for the first time in eight years since 2015, but it was successfully concluded with the interest and active participation of many citizens.
