[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is holding a naming contest for two marine pedestrian bridges installed along the Danghangman Dullegil trail in Danghang-ri, Hoihwa-myeon, Goseong-gun.
Danghangman Dullegil, a site of great historical significance as the victory site of Admiral Yi Sun-sin's Battle of Danghangpo, has two provisional marine pedestrian bridges named the 1st Marine Pedestrian Bridge and the 2nd Marine Pedestrian Bridge, which offer views of the sea landscape. However, they have lacked official names, making it difficult to promote them distinctively.
Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is holding a naming contest for two marine pedestrian bridges installed along the Danghangman Trail in Danghang-ri, Hoihwa-myeon, Goseong-gun.
Accordingly, the county is holding a contest to attract residents' interest and widely publicize the Danghangman Dullegil by finding creative names for the marine pedestrian bridges.
The contest will be held for three weeks from February 1 to 21, and anyone interested can participate regardless of region or age.
Those wishing to participate can download the application form from the announcement section on the Goseong-gun website and submit it by mail, visit, or email to the Culture and Tourism Division of Goseong County Office. Applications are limited to one set (two marine pedestrian bridges) per person, so applicants should apply carefully.
Goseong-gun will conduct evaluations based on originality, symbolism, and popularity through internal document screening and public opinion surveys (Band voting), and plans to announce six winning entries, including Gold Prize (500,000 KRW), Silver Prize (300,000 KRW), and Bronze Prize (200,000 KRW), around March.
Oh Se-ok, head of the Culture and Tourism Division, said, “We hope this naming contest will attract much attention and serve as an opportunity to revitalize the Danghangpo tourist site and contribute to the development of the local economy.”
