Attending Breakfast Prayer Meeting, Kim Dong-yeon: "The Country is in Trouble... [Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The country is currently facing difficulties," and pledged, "I will do my best to change the Republic of Korea through the transformation of Gyeonggi Province."


On the 30th, Governor Kim attended the '2023 Gyeonggi Province Leaders Invitation New Year Breakfast Prayer Meeting' held at Sae Eden Church in Yongin (Senior Pastor So Kang-seok) and quoted Ecclesiastes 2:24, "There is nothing better for a person than to eat and drink and find enjoyment in their toil. This also, I see, is from the hand of God," emphasizing, "I will make every effort to achieve the common good (共同善)."


Furthermore, he said, "The country is in a very difficult situation. This year, various hardships are expected, such as difficulties faced by vulnerable groups due to heating costs, a decrease in exports, and an increase in trade deficits (more than ever before)." He added, "The Korean economy has never been without challenges, so our task is to overcome these difficulties and build a new, strong Republic of Korea. I promise to do my best to change the Republic of Korea through the transformation of Gyeonggi Province."


This is the first time in six years since 2017 that the Governor of Gyeonggi Province has personally attended the New Year Breakfast Prayer Meeting hosted by the Gyeonggi Province Christian Council.


In addition to Governor Kim, the breakfast prayer meeting was attended by lawmakers Yoo Ui-dong, Lim Jong-sung, Ahn Min-seok, Yang Ki-dae, Kim Young-jin, Lee Tan-hee, and Kim Byung-wook; Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun; Yongin Mayor Lee Sang-il; Osan Mayor Lee Kwon-jae; and Gyeonggi Provincial Council Chairman Yeom Jong-hyun.


Meanwhile, since the beginning of this year, Governor Kim has visited the four major religions?Protestantism, Buddhism (Tongdosa Temple), Catholicism (Uijeongbu Diocese), and Won Buddhism (Central Headquarters)?to exchange New Year greetings with religious leaders and seek their advice.
