Yoon Tae-yeon Appointed as the 15th Chief of Seogwipo Maritime Police Station

According to Seogwipo Maritime Police Station on the 30th, the new Chief Yoon Tae-yeon began his official duties by skipping a separate inauguration ceremony and starting with inspecting the maritime security situation in the Seogwipo area at the comprehensive situation room, followed by reviewing major issues by department.


Chief Yoon, who entered the maritime police in 1996 as the 44th candidate for the rank of lieutenant, is from Hampyeong, Jeollanam-do, graduated from Korea Maritime University, and has held key positions such as Head of the Organization Team at the Korea Coast Guard, Head of the Situation Room at the West Sea Regional Maritime Police Agency, Chief of Sokcho Maritime Police Station, Chief of Taean Maritime Police Station, and Head of the Security Division at the South Sea Regional Maritime Police Agency.


In his inauguration remarks, Chief Yoon Tae-yeon said, “I will do my best in the role and responsibility to protect the lives and property of the people at sea,” and added, “Please do not forget the attitude of a public official who serves the people.”


Meanwhile, former Chief Kim Jin-young has moved to the position of Professor and Head of Department at the Korea Maritime Police Education Institute.
