A survey revealed that consumer perception of 'jogger pants,' originally workout wear for jogging, is shifting closer to everyday wear.


Athleisure brand Andar announced on the 30th that it conducted a 'Perception Survey on Jogger Pants' targeting 206 customers who purchased jogger pants from its official online mall between January 13 and 18 this month. The results showed that most respondents use jogger pants as everyday clothing.


When asked how they perceive jogger pants, 64% answered "both workout wear and everyday wear," the largest group. 25% recognized jogger pants solely as everyday wear, while only 11% answered "workout wear" exclusively. This means about 89% consider jogger pants suitable for daily life beyond exercise. This trend was especially pronounced among younger generations. Regarding jogger pants styling, regardless of age, 88% said they pair them with casual athleisure looks such as hoodies or sweatshirts.


An Andar representative stated, "We confirmed that jogger pants have firmly established themselves as a representative item of athleisure clothing, comfortable attire that crosses the boundaries between exercise and daily life," adding, "We will strive to introduce products with various materials and designs to meet the evolving expectations of consumers."


Meanwhile, the jogger pants line offered by Andar expanded from 18 styles in 2020 to about 60 styles last year. Sales of jogger pants also increased by 69% compared to 2021.
