Open Recruitment for Committee Members, Expansion of Communication Channels
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (County Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it will publicly recruit the 3rd term members of the Goheung-gun Youth Policy Council, which operates to have youth directly participate in discovering youth policies and promoting youth rights, for four weeks from the 26th of this month to the 22nd of next month.
The Goheung-gun Youth Policy Council plays a pivotal role as a communication channel where local youth and the administration jointly consider the problems faced by local youth, present various opinions on youth policies, and propose customized policies that resonate with reality to the county.
The Youth Policy Council being recruited this time targets residents of the county aged between 19 and 49, who have a strong interest in overall youth policies and a high willingness to participate in county administration. The number of recruits is about 20 people.
The county plans to appoint the selected candidates as members of the 3rd term Youth Policy Council. During their two-year term, appointed members will collect opinions from local youth in various fields, actively participate in discovering agendas related to Goheung-type youth policies, and carry out various youth policy promotion activities.
To facilitate smooth policy proposals by the members selected for the Youth Policy Council, the county will accelerate the discovery of regionally tailored youth policies through capacity-building education, meetings, and regular gatherings.
The county stated, “We plan to expand the operation of the Youth Policy Council, a communication channel for youth, to reflect the diverse voices of local youth in policies and take a step closer to ‘Goheung where youth stay and youth are happy.’ We hope for much interest and participation from the youth.”
