[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The National Library of Korea has announced the list of domestic and international web databases (DB) available for free this year. A total of 62 types, including 13 new ones, are composed of academic materials, e-books, newspapers and magazines, video and audio materials. Anyone using the library can freely access them.
Among them, 58 DBs such as ‘Historical Abstracts with Full Text’ can be accessed off-site by holders of a regular library membership card.
According to the library, the publicly available materials are selected and subscribed across all subject fields through satisfaction surveys and expert recommendations. Detailed lists and usage guides can be found on the library’s website.
A library official stated, “We will continue to provide not only highly used DBs but also high-quality online information resources on various topics that cannot be accessed elsewhere, supporting users’ online cultural life and academic activities simultaneously.”
