‘Newlywed Couple Jeonse Loan’ Users

Online ‘Woori Dungji Daegu’ Rolling Applications

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-seon] Daegu City will continue its interest support program for newlywed couples' jeonse loans this year.

Since 2020, Daegu City has been supporting the interest on jeonse deposit loans to reduce the housing cost burden for newlywed couples, attracting significant attention.

The support targets newlywed couples residing in Daegu who have newly contracted or additionally contracted the 'Housing and Urban Fund Newlywed Couple Exclusive Jeonse Deposit' loan product since 2020. If moving from another region to Daegu, applicants are eligible if they transfer their resident registration address to the leased housing address within Daegu within three months.

The support amount is calculated differentially up to a maximum of 1.6% depending on the number of children, within the total interest amount paid to the bank, and is provided for a basic period of 2 years, up to a maximum of 6 years.

Applications can be submitted online through 'Woori Dungji Daegu' starting this month. Once confirmed as a support recipient, applicants can claim the support funds during the claim periods from May 1 to 15 and November 1 to 15.

Additionally, existing recipients who have extended their loans after 2 years must apply for support again.

Launched in 2020 to provide practical assistance to newlywed couples facing significant housing cost burdens, this program recorded a total of 1,206 cases and approximately 480 million KRW in performance last year, with the number of claims increasing annually.

Jo Kyung-sun, Director of Youth and Women Education Bureau of Daegu City, stated, “This program promoted by Daegu City continues this year due to growing interest from eligible recipients,” adding, “It will help prospective or newlywed couples who delay marriage and childbirth due to housing cost burdens.”
