[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The 'World Art Expo in Seoul,' hosted by the International Association of Art (IAA) Korea Committee and organized by the Seoul International Art Expo Steering Committee, will be held from February 9 to 12 at COEX, 3rd floor, Hall C, Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The 1st World Art Expo in Seoul is designed to showcase various fields of art with participation from galleries and art-related institutions worldwide, aiming to discover new K-art industries.
This event, introducing K-culture and K-art to art enthusiasts around the world, will exhibit over 1,500 works across more than 150 booths. Works by prominent contemporary artists both domestic and international such as Park Seo-bo, Lee Ufan, Woo Kuk-won, Ugo Rondinone, and Michael Craig Martin will be featured. Additionally, works by webtoon artist Kian84, singer Song Min-ho, actors Choi Min-soo, Kim Min-gyu, and Choi Jung-woo will also be displayed. A special invitational exhibition will showcase artists Kim Whanki, Park Soo-keun, Lee Jung-seop, Yoon Hyung-keun, and Lee Bae.
As part of the performance-related events, a hip-hop show titled 'Old & New Dance Battle' will take place.
Lee Kwang-soo, chairman of the IAA Korea Committee, stated, "Culture and arts are the foundation for preserving human peace and happiness as well as the basis for economic activities," adding, "We aim to develop industries related to art while turning this into a global event that returns the right to enjoy culture and arts to the public."
Applications to attend the 'World Art Expo in Seoul' can be made through the official website, and tickets can be purchased at a discounted pre-booking price until the 31st.
