[Asia Economy Reporter Noh Kyung-jo] Hanyang announced on the 30th that it has established the 'Renewable Energy Solutions Headquarters' to strengthen its renewable energy business and recruited Park Hee-jang, former head of the Green New Deal Business Division at Korea South-East Power, as the head of the headquarters (vice president).
Vice President Park Hee-jang joined Korea Electric Power Corporation in 1991 and moved to Korea South-East Power in 2000. Since then, he has been an expert in the renewable energy business field, serving as head of the New Renewable Business Division, head of the Measurement and Control Department at Bundang Power Headquarters, director of the Renewable Energy General Office, and head of the Green New Deal Business Division for over 20 years.
With the recruitment of Head Park, Hanyang expects to accelerate the development of photovoltaic power plants in vacant land districts for the construction of the 'Solar City Renewable Energy Hub Terminal,' which is currently being focused on, including onshore and floating solar power projects such as Ganwolho and Haechangman.
Additionally, the company plans to leap forward as a specialized company capable of providing total solutions from development, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) to operation in various renewable energy business fields such as wind power generation.
Meanwhile, Hanyang has reorganized its energy sector into three headquarters: Renewable Energy Solutions Headquarters, ECO Energy Solutions Headquarters, and Energy Infrastructure Business Headquarters. The company plans to actively expand carbon-neutral businesses such as hydrogen, carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), ammonia, and district energy, centered on the Northeast Asia liquefied natural gas (LNG) hub terminal business, as well as renewable energy projects.
A Hanyang official stated, "We plan to diversify our energy business and strengthen our capabilities to promote new businesses to secure sustainable growth momentum as an energy company."
