Funds from the 'Bright World Fund' created by employee donations used
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Hanwha Asset Management announced on the 30th that it conducted three types of sharing activities from November to January.
▲ Making Hickman catheter pouches for blood cancer patients ▲ Donating winter survival kits to Dongmyeong Child Welfare Center ▲ Supporting emergency relief funds for Doctors Without Borders, providing aid to those in urgent need during the cold winter. These activities were funded by the Bright World Fund, which was created from employee donations.
A Hickman catheter is a tube that connects the central venous catheter of blood cancer patients who require repeated intravenous injections to the outside of the body, and a pouch is needed to maintain cleanliness at the insertion site. Hanwha Asset Management employees carefully handcrafted pouches for blood cancer patients who have been inconvenienced due to the lack of places selling Hickman pouches. The completed pouches were donated through the Korea Marrow Donor Program along with a small donation for patients facing difficulties in blood supply during the "blood donation lean season" in winter.
The winter survival kits were made for children in orphanages struggling with the severe cold this winter. The kits consisted of cold-weather items (winter pajamas, neck warmers, hot packs) and daily necessities for a comfortable orphanage life (pillows, hand cream, lip balm). Employees participated directly in the entire process from selecting donation recipients to packing and delivering the kits.
A representative from Dongmyeong Child Welfare Center, which received the items, said, "You can see the care put into selecting and packing each item," and added, "Thanks to this, we worried less about the cold, and the children really liked it," expressing gratitude.
Additionally, as a partner company of Doctors Without Borders, Hanwha Asset Management donated a small amount of emergency relief funds to support patients in medical blind spots worldwide.
A Hanwha Asset Management official stated, "Employee donation activities started with the hope that even small gestures, under the name 'Bright World Fund,' would help create a brighter world," and added, "We believe that delivering warm care to those in difficult circumstances is also a way to give back to our customers who choose Hanwha Asset Management. We will continue to engage in social contribution activities where employees think and act together."
