The History of Dongdaemun Meets DDP Media Art

Exhibition "Circulation of Place" Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Seoul Design Foundation announced on the 30th that the exhibition "Circulation of Place," which interprets the locality and historical value of Dongdaemun through media art, will be held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). The exhibition can be seen from next month 1st to June 30th at the DDP permanent media art exhibition hall, the ‘Media Art Gallery,’ and the transparent OLED ‘Media Wall.’

This exhibition is part of the ‘Seoul Light DDP’ next-generation media artist development project, which visualizes the stories layered over a long time in the place called Dongdaemun?from Hanyangdoseong to Hunryundogam, Dongdaemun Stadium, Pungmul Market, and DDP?through the perspectives of next-generation media artists.

The next-generation media artist development project, which started last year, is an exhibition project conducted annually by the Seoul Design Foundation to discover and nurture next-generation media artists. The foundation aims to continuously present experimental works by emerging artists to visitors and to refine and improve these works, thereby leading domestic media art with completeness.

The "Circulation of Place" exhibition is free to visit without a separate reservation. The exhibition is held without closing days from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the DDP Design Lab 1st floor Media Art Gallery and the transparent OLED Media Wall.
