Presidential Office Plans to File Complaint Against Kim Eui-gyeom Over Additional Stock Manipulation Allegations Involving Kim Gun-hee

The Presidential Office, Despite 'Absurd Lies' Rebuttal,
Kim Eui-gyeom Reignites Spread Through Written Briefing

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] The Presidential Office plans to file a police complaint against Kim Eui-gyeom, a spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, on charges of spreading false information regarding additional stock manipulation allegations involving First Lady Kim Keon-hee, wife of President Yoon Seok-yeol, on the 29th.

According to a Presidential Office official on the 29th, the office is considering legal action with the intention of filing charges against Representative Kim for spreading false information as early as the beginning of next week.

Despite refuting Representative Kim's allegations, the Presidential Office judged that legal action is inevitable as Kim continues to spread false information repeatedly.

On the 27th, Representative Kim stated in a commentary, "There is evidence that the First Lady was involved in another stock manipulation case; following Deutsche Motors, this time it is Woori Technology's manipulated stock," and insisted that she should be investigated by the prosecution.

In response, the Presidential Office issued a notice to the press corps on the same day, expressing "strong regret over the 'false briefing' made by arbitrarily interpreting parts of another person's trial proceedings," and rebutted it as "absurd falsehood."

On the other hand, Representative Kim released a written briefing, saying, "Shaking the opposition party spokesperson will not erase the 'First Lady's charges,'" and countered, "Instead of angrily calling the commentary based on trial records and media reports 'absurd falsehood,' it is better to appear before the prosecution first."

If the Presidential Office files a complaint regarding this allegation, it will be the second legal action related to the First Lady. Last November, the Presidential Office filed a complaint against Democratic Party lawmaker Jang Kyung-tae on charges of spreading false information for claiming that photos of the First Lady's Cambodia visit were a 'concept shoot using lighting.'
