KB Kookmin Bank Provides Emergency Support of 500 Million KRW for Heating Costs to Vulnerable Groups

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 29th that it will urgently provide 500 million KRW to alleviate the heating cost burden of vulnerable groups struggling due to the sharp rise in energy prices.

Recently, with record cold waves and rising energy prices causing heating costs to soar, the livelihood burden on vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients has increased further. Accordingly, KB Kookmin Bank will deliver 500 million KRW to the Children and Future Foundation to support heating costs for vulnerable groups.

In December last year, KB Kookmin Bank raised 100 million KRW through the 'Paper Bankbook Reduction Customer Participation Donation Campaign' and supported heating costs for about 300 vulnerable households. It has also continuously carried out sharing activities for energy-vulnerable groups, such as delivering heating supplies purchased from small business owners to families with disabled children.

A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, "We urgently decided to support heating costs with the hope that neighbors struggling with heating expenses due to the recent cold wave can have a warmer winter," adding, "We will continue to fulfill our social responsibility as a corporate citizen by practicing sharing for our neighbors."
