Chungnam Provides Emergency Heating Cost Support to Over 66,000 Vulnerable Households

[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province will provide emergency heating cost support to vulnerable households in the region.

On the 28th, the province announced that it will allocate 7.6 billion KRW from the disaster relief fund to support approximately 66,600 vulnerable households with 100,000 KRW each, and about 4,600 cold wave shelters such as senior centers and village halls with 200,000 KRW each for heating costs.

The emergency support is being implemented to reduce the burden on vulnerable local residents who are experiencing economic difficulties due to the recent surge in heating usage caused by the cold wave and the rise in heating costs.

In particular, this support is provided separately from the existing heating cost support for senior centers and energy vouchers for vulnerable groups.

Kim Tae-heum, Governor of Chungnam Province, said, “We will ease the economic burden that vulnerable groups must bear due to the increase in heating costs so that all residents can spend the winter safely and healthily.”
