[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) has been selected for the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s “2023 Senior Career-type Job Project,” launching support for reemployment of the 5060 generation.

The “Senior Career-type Job Project” is designed to provide local service jobs that utilize the experience and expertise of retirees aged 50 and above, supporting participants in leveraging their project experience to reenter private-sector employment.

Gwanak-gu secured 74 million KRW in national funding, which is 50% of the project budget, through the Ministry of Employment and Labor contest selection, and will recruit a total of six people for two projects: ▲ Visiting Job Designers ▲ Stray Animal Capture Team.

The “Visiting Job Designers” project offers various employment services such as job counseling for job seekers and discovering recruitment demands from workplaces. Applicants must be aged between 50 and under 70 and hold a vocational counseling certificate or have at least three years of work experience related to vocational counseling.

The “Stray Animal Capture Team” inspects capture traps installed in major stray dog appearance areas, patrols and educates in areas with complaints such as violations of the Animal Protection Act, and prevents safety accidents caused by stray animals. Eligibility requires applicants to be aged between 50 and under 65 and hold an animal-related certificate or have at least three years of work experience related to animals.

Applicants must be unemployed residents registered in Gwanak-gu as of the announcement date, January 12. Those holding a business registration certificate must prove that their business is currently inactive. Applications can be submitted in person at the Job Venture Division on the 4th floor of Gwanak-gu Office from February 1 to 8. Selected candidates will begin participating in the project from March 2.
