"Proxy War Expansion: Peace Worldwide If Not the US"
'North Korea Avoids Mentioning Suspicions of Providing Weapons to Russia's Wagner'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hee-jun] North Korea has strongly condemned the United States for deciding to support Ukraine with tanks. However, it did not comment on allegations that North Korea supplied weapons to the Russian private military company Wagner Group.
Kim Yo-jong, Deputy Director of the Workers' Party, stated in a statement on the 27th, "The United States, which has played a 'special role' in pushing numerous military equipment into Ukraine and fueling the continuation of unstable global events, recently made an official announcement that it will provide its main battle tanks, thereby making its anti-Russia stance clearer."
She continued, "This reflects the United States' sinister intention to further expand the proxy war aimed at destroying Russia to achieve its hegemonic goals," adding, "If it were not for the United States, the world would be a brighter, safer, and more peaceful place than it is now."
Earlier, U.S. President Joe Biden announced on the 25th (local time) in a speech that 31 M1 Abrams tanks would be provided to Ukraine.
Kim emphasized, "I have no doubt that any armed equipment that the U.S. and the West boast of will all be burned to scrap metal in the face of the heroic Russian army and people's indomitable fighting spirit and power," and stressed, "We will always stand in the same trench with the Russian army and people who have taken up the fight to defend the dignity and honor of the nation, as well as the country's sovereignty and security."

While North Korea criticized the competition between Russia and Ukraine as a 'proxy war' targeting the United States, Kim did not mention the allegations that North Korea supplied weapons to the Russian private military company Wagner Group in this statement.
The Wagner Group mobilizes combatants composed of prisoners and mercenaries to support Russia's war efforts. The United States recently designated the Wagner Group as an international criminal organization, judging that it purchased infantry rockets, missiles, and other weapons and ammunition from North Korea.
