[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] On Saturday the 28th, severe cold will continue, with snow falling in various parts of the country including the Seoul metropolitan area.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 27th, snow will begin in the morning on the west coast of Chungnam and Jeolla, then expand to other regions such as the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, Yeongseo in Gangwon, and inland Yeongnam by the afternoon. Expected snowfall amounts are 1?3 cm in Chungnam, Jeolla (excluding the eastern southern coast of Jeonnam), and the five West Sea islands; less than 1 cm in southern Gyeonggi, central and southern Chungbuk, and the eastern southern coast of Jeonnam; and less than 0.1 cm in Seoul, Incheon, northern Gyeonggi, Yeongseo in Gangwon, western inland Gyeongbuk, and northwestern inland Gyeongnam.

Ulleungdo and Dokdo, as well as Jeju Island, will continue to see snow that started on the 27th through the 28th. The expected snowfall over two days is 10?30 cm for Ulleungdo and Dokdo; 5?10 cm (with some places exceeding 15 cm) in the mid-mountain and mountainous areas of Jeju Island; and 1?5 cm along the coastal areas of Jeju Island.

The morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between -18 and -4 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between -5 and 3 degrees Celsius. Morning temperatures will drop 2 to 6 degrees lower than on the 27th, with most regions nationwide recording around -10 degrees Celsius. The central inland and inland Gyeongbuk will fall to around -15 degrees Celsius, making it extremely cold. Fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' across all regions due to smooth atmospheric dispersion.

Sea waves will be 1.0?2.5 meters in the East Sea coastal waters, 0.5?4.0 meters in the West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5?2.0 meters in the South Sea coastal waters. Wave heights in the offshore waters (about 200 km from the coastline) are predicted to be 1.5?4.0 meters in the East Sea, 1.0?5.0 meters in the West Sea, and 1.0?4.0 meters in the South Sea.
