Attendance at the Opening Ceremony of Gangseo 6th Branch Our Neighborhood Care Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, stated on the 27th, "We will spare no effort in actively supporting the establishment of a child care system so that dual-income couples can entrust their children with peace of mind."
At the opening ceremony of the Gangseo 6th Branch Our Neighborhood Care Center held at Gomdallae Cultural Welfare Center at 3 p.m. that day, Mayor Kim said, "As a parent raising two children, I understand parents' feelings better than anyone else and pay great attention to child care."
Mayor Kim carefully examined the child care site, checking whether children had any inconveniences using the center, child care services tailored to each grade level, and the status of educational program operations.
About 40 people, including Mayor Kim Tae-woo, parent representatives, and local residents, attended the opening ceremony.
Our Neighborhood Care Center is a child care facility that looks after elementary school children aged 6 to 12 from dual-income families.
The district expanded the 6th branch in Hwagok 8-dong this year following the opening of the 5th branch in June last year to reduce parents' child-rearing burdens and fill the care gap caused by dual-income households.
Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, "Although there are various care institutions in the region, they are currently insufficient to meet the demand for care. We will do our best to gradually expand Our Neighborhood Care Center to make Gangseo a great place to raise children."
