Kim Hae-cheol Appointed as the 27th Chief of Mokpo Maritime Police Station

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Kim Hae-cheol (54), Superintendent, was inaugurated as the 27th Chief of the Mokpo Maritime Police Station in Jeonnam on the 27th.

According to Mokpo Maritime Police, Chief Kim held a simple inauguration ceremony in the police station conference room in the afternoon, visited the comprehensive situation room to inspect the maritime security situation under jurisdiction, and then paid tribute to the late Lieutenant Park Kyung-jo's bust before officially starting his duties.

At the event, Chief Kim Hae-cheol said, "I will prioritize the safety of the people and do my best to protect maritime sovereignty and ensure maritime safety in the West Sea," adding, "I will concentrate all capabilities to establish a comprehensive maritime safety network and devote all efforts to preventing maritime accidents."

He also added, "I will fulfill my duties faithfully by clearly recognizing what the mission and tasks assigned to the maritime police are, as a public official."

New Chief Kim Hae-cheol of Mokpo Maritime Police graduated from Haenam High School and Korea Maritime University, entered the maritime police as a police officer candidate (48th class) in 2000, and has held key positions including Head of the Maritime Police Agency Situation Center, Chief of Tongyeong Maritime Police Station, Director of Operations Support and Academic Affairs at the Maritime Police Education Institute, and Training Officer and Director of Operations Support at the Maritime Police Agency.

Meanwhile, former Chief Lee Jong-wook has moved to the position of Director of Maritime Safety at the Maritime Police Agency.
