On the 27th, Dong-A University announced that it decided to increase tuition fees by 3.95% for undergraduate programs and 3.89% for graduate programs.
Applying the increase rate, the tuition for the upcoming first semester will rise by 112,000 KRW from 2,857,000 KRW to 2,969,000 KRW for humanities majors, and by 153,000 KRW from 3,876,000 KRW to 4,029,000 KRW for engineering majors, based on current students.
Since the 3rd of this month, Dong-A University held a total of six tuition review committee meetings attended by 11 members, including five faculty and staff, five students, and one external member, to deliberate on tuition increase or freeze.
At the 6th committee meeting held on the 27th, they unanimously agreed to support the increase, deciding to use the additional 5 billion KRW in tuition revenue for improving the educational environment through a task force composed of students and faculty members.
