[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Suseong Salbasion announced on the 27th that demand for its COVID-19 prevention spray Kobixil is increasing in countries such as France, Denmark, and Vietnam.
The company stated, "Overseas e-commerce platforms such as Gramersi in France, Ubuy in Denmark, and Giaonhan247 in Vietnam are purchasing Kobixil in large quantities through Walmart and selling it," adding, "Global large-scale orders are continuing due to the worsening and prolonged COVID-19 pandemic worldwide."
Kobixil is a spray product with over 99% neutralizing power against respiratory viruses including COVID-19 and influenza. It is explained that spraying 2 to 3 times a day forms a physical protective barrier in the nasal cavity to block virus invasion into the human body.
This product was developed with research and development support from the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) and was officially introduced through platforms such as Nature (Springer Nature) and the World Health Organization (WHO) global open access platform. It has also obtained approval from government agencies in the UK and 15 Caribbean Community countries.
Previously, the company signed a large-scale supply contract for Kobixil with Daechun Bio in China. On the 4th, the company announced it would supply 10.8 million units of Kobixil to China. It was explained that a temporary product shortage occurred recently due to the emergence of variant viruses such as XBB.1.5.
A representative of Suseong Salbasion emphasized, "In overseas markets with weak medical systems, virus prevention is more crucial than vaccines or treatments," and added, "Based on successive large-scale Kobixil supply contracts, we will accelerate performance growth."
