Field One General Construction Completes Korea's First Air Dome Indoor Soccer Stadium Construction

Field One General Construction (CEO Eom Gi-seok) announced that it has completed the construction of the country's first air dome soccer training ground near Bomun Tourist Complex in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk, and will open it next month.

The nation's first air dome soccer training ground, with a total project cost of 10.7 billion KRW including 5 billion KRW in government funding, was established on a 10,725m2 (3,244 pyeong) site within the Well-being Center in Cheongun-dong near Bomun Tourist Complex, Gyeongju.

Equipped with one full-sized artificial turf soccer field (105m x 68m), spectator seats, practice areas, a tactical meeting room, offices, and locker rooms, it is expected to gain great attention from soccer enthusiasts nationwide as an all-weather training facility.

The air dome is an air-supported structure that is more resistant to earthquakes and typhoons compared to conventional buildings. With its heating and cooling system, it can be used even in extreme heat or cold, making it ideal for creating indoor environments for sports like baseball and tennis that are heavily affected by seasonal and environmental factors. Additionally, it is equipped with filters that block fine dust, providing a comfortable playing environment, and can also serve as a disaster evacuation facility in emergencies.

Field One General Construction, which provides total solutions related to sports including sports infrastructure development, planning, and operation, has become the first company in Korea to successfully construct an air dome soccer training ground.

CEO Eom Gi-seok of Field One General Construction stated, “The air dome is a revolutionary facility that will change the paradigm of the domestic sports industry. As the number one company in Korea for air dome construction, we will continue to enhance our expertise so that people can enjoy sports freely all year round.”

Meanwhile, Field One General Construction plans to continue its relentless efforts to establish a foothold for the domestic air dome industry, starting with the construction of the air dome in Gyeongju.
