Recruiting 60 City Monitoring Volunteers... Applications Open Until the 9th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced that it will publicly recruit city administration monitors for 14 days from the 27th to the 9th of next month. The announcement can be found on the Changwon Special City website under Notices and Announcements.
The city administration monitors play a role in gathering public opinion and providing feedback on the monthly assigned tasks related to "Changwon Special City's current policies and projects." Major tasks from last year included August's "The remaining carbon time for us is 6 years and 11 months, the direction to move toward carbon neutrality" and November's "What are the city administration monitors' opinions on good consumption and Nubi-jeon?"
Meanwhile, 60 city administration monitors submitted a total of 398 reports on the monthly assigned tasks during their 9-month activity period last year. The relevant departments actively reviewed these reports to reflect them in future policies.
In 2023, unlike the previous method of selecting by region, 15 university students, 15 housewives, 10 seniors, and 20 general citizens were selected by category to gather more diverse opinions.
In the first half of the year, on-site visits are planned to raise interest in the city's current projects among the city administration monitors and encourage active participation.
Mayor Hong Nam-pyo said, "Communication administration that listens to and reflects the voices of citizens is the most important," and added, "We will do our best so that many citizens participate and Changwon Special City can be built by the hands of its citizens."
